    Scopes-4-Schools, Inc. is a California based non-profit organization whose mission is to strengthen the public's  understanding of the importance of scientific research and support science education in the public schools.

Here are some pictures taken during this event:
During the day visitors took advantage of the many activities that were offered for both children and adults.

Solar telescopes were provided for safe viewing of the Sun.
More than 200 people lined up at the telecopes as volunteer astronomers acted as their guide to the night sky..
As night time rolled around telecopes provided awesome views of Saturn, the Orion Nebula, the Moon and other facinating objects.
